    Measure Name: Distress Thermometer
Current Description: Together with five distress domains, the DT is the main distress management measure recommended by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). The DT is a simple, self-report, pencil and paper measure consisting of a line with a 0-to-10 scale anchored at the zero point with “No Distress” and at scale point 10 with “Extreme Distress.” Patients are asked to answer the question “How distressed have you been during the past week on a scale of 0 to 10?” by marking their answer on the scale. The recommended cutoff was 4 versus 5, but in 2007 was revised to 3 versus 4.
