Construct Name: Executive Functioning
Definition of Construct: Executive functions are a set of cognitive processes that are necessary for the cognitive control of behavior and are critical for the attainment of chosen goals. Executive functioning includes a number of processes, including inhibitory control, attentional control, working memory, cognitive flexibility, reasoning, planning and problem solving. Executive functions are also referred to as cognitive control.
