Brief Description: Identifies use of illicit or illegal drugs as well as use of prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons, as well as problem use, abuse and dependence. Note that this measure is about drug use (besides alcohol and tobacco) whereas "substance" could be construed to include tobacco or alcohol. The measure is also about any use as it is not only maladaptive use that can lead to health consequences.
