Brief Description: Attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and behavioral intention were all measured on 7-point scales. For the measure of attitude, participants were presented with the stem “For me, participating in regular physical activity would be . . . ,” which they were asked to rate on six bipolar (-3 to +3) semantic differential scales, anchored by the adjectives dull–interesting, unpleasant–pleasant, boring–stimulating, unhealthy–healthy, bad–good, and useless–useful.

Target Population: Ninety-four participants were recruited from a private gymnasium in the south of England. The sample consisted of 53 women and 41 men between 16 and 65 years of age (M = 37.57, SD = 10.13).
